I just have to write a little thank you to my wonderful husband. I think the whole world needs to know how amazing he is. I have been anything but a bowl of rainbows lately, I've been completely overwhelmed with work and a big freelance project on top of it, putting in 8 hour days at my full time job and coming home only to start working again is pretty typical. While our house is far from spotless, Steve has been incredibly helpful. He has been there to support me (when I have nothing more to do than complain), to love me (even when I don't feel lovable) to do laundry (cause he knows I hate it) and even has dinner ready as soon as I walk in the door (because a girl needs to eat!). It's very easy to get into a routine and forget all the reasons we married each other in the first place, I NEVER want to Steve for granted and thus I am taking this opportunity to tell him publicly how much I appreciate everything he does.

Steve I love you so very much, I am blessed to call you my own.
** FUN POST TO COME :) BUT IT'S A SECRET, SO CHECK BACK SOONISH! **
A fun little side project at work. I designed this to be used as an invite for one of our bigger clients to join us at Happy Hour after work one day. Good times!

Up Nort

Since we got married life has only gotten busier. It seems as though we have something going on every weekend and almost every weeknight. With me working full time + freelance, and Steve pulling 2/3ish jobs, on top of church commitments, friends, family, and weddings we are going non stop. How silly of me to think that marriage would be relaxing! And then...... One fine day in January I opened my email only to find my daily email from Crowdcut... Now it wasn't just any old offer like 50% off salon services, or 25% off car detailing.. this one was for a two night stay at the Lutsen Sea Villas!! I don't think I even thought twice, I immediately told Steve we had to go, and he agreed.

We were both very much looking forward to a cozy weekend away up North, A weekend of snowboarding and movies by the fireplace was exactly what we needed. And then MN happened. Snow? What's that? So rather than snowboarding and movies, we had swimming, biking and movies! Can't complain! It was so awesome to get away and not think about anything. We were able to let go of all the stress and chaos back home and bask in God's amazing creation and focus on quality time with each other for a whole weekend! I loved every minute of it!
Out our back door
Our cozy cabin for the weekend!
Love the wood burning fireplace!

We even did a 500 piece puzzle!! I don't even like puzzles!

It was pretty cold our first night there. Notice the red nose :)

Making progress!

Ready for the Gitchi Gami trail! I looked so cool.

So close!!
Typical.
I <3 him.

Make that a 498 piece puzzle. WE DID IT!

Packin up the bikes. Too bad we lost a seat on the way home.

Best breakfast EVER!

Stuffed french toast and wild-rice sausage! YUM!

Steve had a delicious breakfast pita!

Beth had suggested we check out Fitgers Pub in Duluth for a flight of beer and some awesome food. While we had the best intentions of eating lunch we were just not hungry at all after our massive breakfast. HOWEVER, we were determined to try this beer. So we decided to pass the time by visiting the Duluth Aquarium! Not quite as impressive as 'SeaLife' at the MOA, but a fun spur of the moment decision nonetheless! I will give you a tour!

There's a duck!

and a crazy fish.

Steve played with some boats...
and played some more..

This fish is cooll.

Then we ate and drank and drove back home! The end!

Don't put valuable things through the wash....

Bad idea.

Christmas in May?

Who knows where we were in December, but I am here today to share our Christmas FEAST with you all! Steve and I always love an excuse to cook extravagantly, and making dinner for Christmas is a challenge we are willing to take. However, I think our eyes may be a bit larger than our stomachs... Even after narrowing down our list to a measly ELEVEN COURSES... we may still have gone a little bit overboard this time... I'm honestly having a hard time remembering everything we made and it's clear we don't have photos of everything. Here's my best shot:

1. Pork Crown Roast
2. Apricot Cranberry Wild Rice
3. Mulled Wine
4. Garlic Edamame
5. Candied Yams
6. Cranberry Chutney
6. Whipped Spiced Carrots
7. Corn Souffle
8. Stuffed Mushrooms
9. Buttermilk biscuits
10.Mandarin Fruit salad
11. Froggy Pie!

After days of slaving away in the kitchen, dinner was there and gone in less than an hour. Whew! Was it worth it? Absolutely! Will we do it again!? Maybe half next time :)

Alright... I'm slightly convinced that nobody really reads this anymore since we have been pretty awful in updating. I DO however want to thank our loyal reader Clinton Thomas for his frequent visits :)

Anyway, where to start. I guess I'll begin by adding a few photos to Steve's last post on our double date at the Brewery! It was a super fun date and it's been even more fun getting to know Jake and Rachel over the last couple months! Enjoy the photos!

There were about 5 of these guys wandering the grounds. I must
say God's a pretty fantastic artist! They are stunning creatures!

That would be us and some delicious drink!

Jake and Rachel!!

Yum.

and.... yum.

Warning:. We are about to go back in time! Hold on tight!!
